Take Our Bed Partner Survey
At TMD & Sleep Apnea Clinic, we are passionate about helping our patients get the quality sleep they deserve. Not only can sleep apnea disrupt your sleep, but it can also be detrimental to your overall health. Many patients who suffer from sleep apnea remain undiagnosed because they are not aware they have a problem. Think about when you sleep at night, you would have no idea if you snore, are a peaceful sleeper, or are restless. Many people learn they have a sleeping issue from their partner or a family member at home.
It can be upsetting for family members to see their loved ones having sleeping issues. Depending on the level of their sleep apnea, some patients may seem like they stop breathing multiple times a night. Since the individual is sleeping and is unaware of the problem, it can be nerve-racking for loved ones to witness nightly. It can also be difficult for family members to get quality sleep if someone is snoring loudly each night. Sleep apnea can affect the sleep of many family members, not just the patient.
Bed Partner Survey
Since partners and family members can give a better insight into their loved ones’ sleep habits, we have created a survey specifically for partners to answer about their loved ones. It is a way for us to help determine if someone has a serious sleep issue that needs immediate treatment for not only their sleep, but for their overall health as well. The survey is a series of yes or no questions that can give us a better idea of their sleep patterns. Then, there is a list of symptoms that you check to see if your loved one has any them, like:
- Snoring
- Restlessness
- Waking up often
- Loud gasping for breath while sleeping
- Kicking during sleep
- Sleep walking
- Sleep talking
If you answer more than 2 or 3 questions with a yes, your loved one should be evaluated by our team to determine the degree of their sleep apnea. Be sure to complete the contact information at the bottom of the survey.
The survey can be found here: Bed Partner Survey
