How To Reduce Stress This Fall
With the arrival of October, we know that the next few months are going to be filled with plenty of extra events and responsibilities. It is a time filled with joy and excitement, but it can also cause a lot of problems with stress. If you have a full plate of responsibilities, adding more can be daunting, not to mention the added expenses that come with this time of year as well. Even the most calm and relaxed person can feel overwhelmed. If you suffer from sleep apnea, stress can really impact your treatment. We want to share the importance of staying calm, cool, and collected during the upcoming holiday season.
Stress and Sleep Apnea
Added stress can really affect your overall health and put you at serious risk for certain medical conditions and episodes, such as high blood pressure, heart attack, stroke, anxiety, and depression. Stress can also affect your sleep, which is especially problematic if you suffer from sleep apnea. Unfortunately, this time of year — with the upcoming holidays and added events to the calendar — can be stressful for anyone. If you suffer from sleep apnea, we want you to be extremely mindful of your stress levels over the coming months. Here are some helpful tips to keep you relaxed:
Plan Your Day
If you have a lot of responsibilities, a great suggestion is to plan out your day. Make a visual list of everything that needs to get accomplished for your work, family, and personal lives. You will feel more confident and relaxed knowing what is important to get completed for the day. When you don’t have a visual list, the tasks you know need to be accomplished can feel overwhelming.
Schedule Your Sleep
Make sure that you have time at the end of the day to relax and settle down. To get good, quality sleep, you need to feel calm. If your mind is constantly thinking and worrying about what needs to be accomplished, it will be difficult to fall asleep.
Delegate What You Can
If you have a stressful, demanding schedule, there is nothing wrong with delegating tasks to others. For example, assign household chores to other family members. Order your groceries online to be delivered or picked up instead of taking the time to walk through the store.
