Meet a Valued Team Member – Nancy
At TMD & Sleep Apnea Clinic, we are dedicated to helping patients with solutions to manage their temporomandibular joint disorder, craniofacial discomfort, and issues related to sleep apnea and snoring. Our team is integral to helping patients like you get the TMD and sleep apnea therapy needed in order to live a healthier life. We wanted to take some time this month to help you learn more about one of our dedicated TMD assistants, Nancy.
Nancy joined our team in May of 2019, although she is no stranger to our office, having worked for Dr. Barrett for 16 years before taking a leave of absence. Nancy was inspired to become an assistant because she wanted to help patients learn to manage their discomfort and have a better way of life. To receive her training, Nancy attended school at the American Academy of Head, Neck, and Facial Pain. Nancy loves working with the entire team because they truly go above and beyond for the patients.
When Nancy is not in the office, you will more than likely find her outdoors, especially during the summertime. She loves hiking, camping, gardening, and being at the beach. She also enjoys being on the water during the summer. When not enjoying the great outdoors, you will find Nancy spending time with her family where they might be planning their next road trip. Although there really isn’t the opportunity to travel at the moment, if Nancy could travel anywhere in the world, she would love to visit the Azores, an island chain that lies west of mainland Portugal.
Nancy’s favorite part of her job is getting to know the patients. When patients are receiving treatments for 3-6 months, it is easy to get to know them. She also feels her job is rewarding when she assists patients in easing their discomfort. If she could give any piece of advice to patients it would be, “I have heard it all, so don’t hold back, be honest about your pain levels.”
