I’ve had a wonderful experience with the entire staff at Dr. Kushner’s office. I have had TMJ for years and had an awful dentist in Virginia perform an unnecessary realignment on my mouth, so I was a unique case. When I first came in, I was feeling like I couldn’t get relief for my jaw pain, and I was exhausted.

When I got the mouthpiece initially, it brought my lower jaw forward and it felt great. I yawned after the first couple nights sleeping with it and my jaw cracked, as if it was cracking back into proper alignment after being off for several years. My husband noticed a significant reduction in my snoring right away. My husband said my face even looks better, that my jaw and facial structure look like they should be. I feel rested.

If I had to describe the staff at the office with one word, I’d use “thorough.” At this point I’ve been in for multiple appointments. Each time the staff checks the mouthpiece and modifies it to make sure it’s perfect. I truly appreciate coming in for multiple modifications to get it just right.

Now Dr. Kushner wants a sleep study, and I am eager to see how that goes. I encourage anyone who is having jaw pain or related issues to come see the staff here. You have nothing to lose, but you do have a better quality of life to gain.

I was referred to this place from my doctor. I at first was struggling to advocate for myself because my insurance was saying one thing to me and the clinic was saying another.
But Dr. Kushner and the front desk (I think Lindsey) are great. Always worked with me to help, I was in tears initially from the jaw pain I was in. They got me in for Botox and the pain is gone.
They have air purifiers in every room also which was nice during the pandemic.
So yes, I would recommend this place if you’re in Jaw pain.

I am very pleased with the care I received from Dr. Kushner and her highly qualified staff. After issues with a C-Pap unit, I have relied on an oral sleep apnea device for more than 10 years. My appliance recently broke and I needed a replacement but my previous dentist had retired.I was able to see Dr. Kushner very quickly and am on the road to a new and improved sleep apnea device. I can't rave enough about this office. I was referred to Dr. Kushner in January of 2020 for severe TMJ pain. I'd had this pain since June 2019 (I'd had episodes of this pain in the past, but with this episode, it didn't go away in the typical few days), was self medicating with over the counter pain meds, avoiding hard foods, and even needed steroid injections. The headaches I was getting daily from the pain was making it hard to function (as a mom of three little ones, this was rough).
With thorough diagnostics, Dr. Kushner and her team made a plan, and after just a day wearing my custom device, I started to notice a difference. I actually never got the severe headaches again, and the pain lessened. During the six+ months of treatment (little delay due to covid), I had some flare ups of the pain, but overall, there was a steady improvement. Now I feel very stable and am out of pain. I eat hard foods. I open so much wider, and the fog has lifted completely from the constant headaches I was experiencing.
The whole team at Dr. Kushner's clinic is amazing. They work hard to have good communication, and they're all very knowledgeable about the TMJ. All the time, energy, and money put into this was well spent and I'm so thankful to have found my way to their caring and capable hands.

I snore! One year ago I had a sleep study. Although I was not diagnosed with sleep apnea the snoring impacted the quality of both my sleep and my husbands. The recommended anti-snoring dental mouthpiece I use to help eliminate my snoring is somewhat effective but shifted my teeth and affected my bite. Dr. K gave me options and hope. When I went to the clinic I admit to being a bit skeptical that anything would help my jaw. After experiencing jaw pain whenever I ate, locked jaws in the morning, crunching and clicking, I had to try something. Dr. Kushner and her staff were amazing! After she explained to me how the treatment works I was willing to give it a try. I wore an appliance (like a night guard) in my mouth for a few months. Slowly but surely my jaw started to improve.
