Dr. Tanya Kushner is a dentist with focused expertise in dental sleep medicine, orofacial pain, and temporomandibular disorders. Her clinical work centers on patients with complex, often overlapping conditions involving sleep-disordered breathing, chronic facial pain, and functional jaw disorders—areas that are frequently underrecognized, particularly in women.
Dr. Kushner serves as Clinical Director of the Center for TMJ and Sleep Solutions Northwest, where she leads interdisciplinary teams involved in the evaluation and long-term management of sleep- and pain-related conditions. Her approach emphasizes careful diagnosis, collaboration with medical providers, and individualized treatment planning that accounts for life stage and overall health.
She has completed advanced postgraduate education in craniofacial pain, TMD, and sleep medicine. Dr. Kushner is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine and the American Board of Orofacial Pain, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Kushner is involved in professional education and mentorship. She is a past President of the Kitsap County Dental Society and an instructor in the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine Mastery Program. She values teaching dentists and healthcare professionals who are interested in practicing at the intersection of dentistry, sleep, and whole-body health, with an emphasis on thoughtful clinical decision-making, ethical care, and sustainable practice models.
Dr. Kushner’s work reflects a commitment to bridging dentistry and medicine, improving recognition of sleep-related disorders in women, and supporting clinicians who care for patients with complex needs.
